Becoming a gynecologist/obstetrician in Sweden

 Medical school

5 ½ years

6 different universities in: Umeå, Uppsala, Stockholm, Linköping, Gothenburg and Lund.

Several routes of admission: grades, national tests (common för all university educations), interviews and essays. Except for grades,  each university decides the route of admission.

Basic skills are equal for all universities but pedagogical approach varies. Learning based on solving problems (PBI) is the modern philosophy opposed to the more traditional cathedral lectures. Most of the universities are practicing PBI but Linköping is the mother of this teaching-method in Sweden.
